Officer Bios and Contact Information


Tom Rebbechi - President

Tom is a Materials & Processes Engineer at Pratt & Whitney with experience in materials application and project management. He has been an active volunteer with EWB-USA since 2012, and also serves as the Connecticut State Representative for EWB-USA. Tom has led student and professional teams in assisting developing communities in Panama, Nepal, and Ecuador. Tom earned a B.S. in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he first began volunteering with EWB, and is currently pursuing a M.S. in the same discipline from Columbia University. Tom is an aviation enthusiast and enjoys competitive swimming, travel, and architecture.


Connor Perry - Vice President

Connor has been a member of the Hartford professional chapter since January 2018. He was most recently the in-country PMEL lead for the chapter’s assessment trip in Ndaleta, Tanzania. Connor currently works for Pratt and Whitney as a design engineer. In his free time, you can catch him biking around West Hartford or lounging in a hammock at Elizabeth Park!


Mike Bedford - Secretary

Mike has been an active contributor on the Hartford Professionals’ international projects since Jan 2017.  He participated in the closeout of the HPC’s Nepal water supply project and has been the Chapter Secretary since Jan 2018.  Mike joined Engineers Without Borders without having any prior experience while looking for a way to give back to the world.  He is a Product Development Engineer at ASSA ABLOY Access and Egress Hardware Group. In his free time, he enjoys working on home renovations, travelling to faraway places, and taking pictures.


Jen Hamvas - Treasurer

Jen has been a member of the Hartford Professional Chapter since fall of 2015. She was involved in the closeout of the Nepal water supply project and was a member of the Ecuador travel team. She is now leading the water quality testing team for the chapter’s current project in Tanzania. Joining the Hartford Professional Chapter was Jen’s first experience with EWB. She was excited to join an organization outside of work that made a positive impact on others in the world. Jen is a Structures Engineer at Pratt & Whitney and is currently pursuing a M.S. in Engineering Management through Penn State. A few things she loves to do in her free time are hike, travel, and spend time with family and friends!


Alyssa Mae Celone – Fundraising Chair

Alyssa joined the Hartford Professional Chapter in summer 2018 after graduating from the University of Connecticut where she was an active EWB-UConn member for 4 years. In her time with EWB-UConn, she served as an E-Board member and was involved with the India project working with women’s shelters and government schools in south India. Currently Alyssa is in the Systems Engineering Validation rotation program at Pratt & Whitney. She loves aviation, traveling, trying new recipes, and making friends across the world.


Aaron Pepin – Membership Chair

Aaron has been a member of the Hartford Professionals chapter since August 2017. He participated in the selection process for the current project in Tanzania and in the Rainwater Catchment technical team. He has been membership chair since January 2018 and previously held leadership positions with the Worcester Polytechnic Institute chapter of EWB supporting an individualized rainwater catchment project in Guatemala. He is a Mechanical Engineer with Pratt and Whitney and enjoys cheering on the Boston spots teams, Do Your Job!
